Hello everyone! Gary Hornsby used to be the “go to” mechanic for the Club. Unfortunately, he is no longer in business. That is why I had the idea of asking members who they like, thinking that I could put together a list for members to use when they were shopping around for a good mechanic. I commend those who do their own maintenance and repairs. That is the best way unfortunately, for those like me, who always manages to screw things up, that is not an option. Now I am getting too old to get on the floor.
I got a few responses from when I asked members to recommend Side x Side mechanics they have been to. I don’t expect to get any more so I am putting together what I have and will make this posting. What I noticed is that for one good review I also would get someone else who did not have a good experience at the same place. The following were mentioned where members had bad experiences:
- Sinfab Racing, https://www.sinfab-racing.com
- Pease Custom Performance, https://www.pcpoffroad.com/
I hope the following will help members who are searching for somewhere to maintain or fix their Side x Sides. There was at least one person who has used the following and thought they did a good job. There may have been others who did not like them at all.

Pease told me my primary clutch was worn out and the 2nd-ary was out of spec. The primary was defective and made a loud clunking noise at 80 miles. I found out that what they said was a comparable clutch was a cheap Chinese knock of. A mother clutches. Lisa lied when she told me no turbos or clutches have a warrantee. $1650 they charged plus labor. Look up Mother clutch they are $700 with the tool and $700 without and a one year warrantee. Pease gets them from a wholesaler, so I am guessing around $550 and tripled the price and put on the invoice a :”good quality ” The “upgraded turbo” turned out to be another Chineese knock off they doubled or tripled their cost. Turbo wasn’t working right so took it to Ride now in Surprise. It was a corroded oxygen sensor. They fixed it and when they road tested it, it put out boost and blew a water line, they forgot to tighten the clamp on, plumb off. That was over $400 to fix that not including the sensor. They refused to give me the paperwork to get the warrantee on the clutch. Probably hiding the price they paid. The turbo was said on the invoice to be an upgrade. They charged over $1700 plus labor and probably under $600 on the internet. There is more, however I can prove these things, and the rest is my word against theirs. I have all communications in writing and can show it to whoever wants to see all of it. Mike Hann
