Hello everyone!  Gary Hornsby used to be the “go to” mechanic for the Club.  Unfortunately, he is no longer in business. That is why I had the idea of asking members who they like, thinking that I could put together a list for members to use when they were shopping around for a good mechanic.  I commend those who do their own maintenance and repairs. That is the best way unfortunately, for those like me, who always manages to screw things up, that is not an option. Now I am getting too old to get on the floor. I got a few responses from whenRead More →

The Club had a great time, in June, camping out along the Woody Mountain Road, south of Flagstaff. I created 4 new videos which you can check out at, https://www.youtube.com/@arizona3060/videos. I have been working with photos taken by my iphone when I make my videos. Iphone will automatically give you gps coordinates and this is extremely important when I am making a video and I need to know where the photo was taken in order to know what you are seeing. When you right click on a photo a panel comes up and if you click on “properties” and then click on “details” and scroll down you will find latitude and longitude in a “degrees, minutes, seconds” format (DMS). One of mine was 35° 0′ 55.20 N 111° 47′ 26.15W. Of course on your phoneRead More →

John Williams provided me with a flyer for the AZ Alpine Trail. The Alpine Trail, like the Peace Trail, is a 750 mile trail that goes from Punkin Center, Payson, Heber/Overgaard to Hannagan Meadow south of Greer in the White Mountains. To learn more about it go to: https://azalpinetrail.org/. I am not sure how to download a track. If anyone finds out, let me know. Keith MenascoRead More →

We had some great rides around Oatman and had a great time. I have six new videos of our rides that I think you will enjoy. You can take a look at, https://www.youtube.com/@arizona3060/videos. Enjoy! Our next event will be around Kanab, UT. Stay tuned for more videos of these rides. I will be recording them thinking that we can go to UT as a club and do some riding next year. Take care! We had a question at our last General Meeting on cost of a permit ($10 for 3 day permit). I did a quick search and came up with the following, https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1209317.pdf. The fee is not for the entire National Forest but only for 4 OHV areas, Bulldog Canyon, The Rolls, St. Clair, and Desert Vista. The Lower Sycamore OHV Permit Zone will eventually be required but the exact date of implementation is still to be determined. For OHV Area maps I refer you to, https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/tonto/recreation/ohv/?recid=35199&actid=93. You have to search for a link to a map (not easy to see). Keith MenascoRead More →
