I found that we can’t get the Rodeo Grounds but I think I have found another excellent camping spot. The Doll Baby Ranch Road (FS 406) is paved going west out of Payson. At the junction of FS 67 and FS 406 there appears to be ample space (according to Google Earth) to dry camp and it will not cost anything. This is 6 miles west of Highway 87. I have checked with the Ranger Station and there is no problem with us camping there. I would like to have someone check it out. This appears to be a better location than the FS Houston Mesa Campground. This would be a great location with several trails that we could easily get to, such as the one going to Jakes Corner. Is anyone going to be in the Payson area before 4/23?
