This was a great ride even thought it was not always easy. We had to “bushwack” our way through several channel crossings and it was dark when we got back to the staging area and we had one breakdown but no one was hurt and we did all get back so that is a Success. We were all tired but I think we all appreciated the experience. I want to thank Ed Schock for leading us. I put together a video of some of the harder parts of the trail. We had a great 4 day ride on the northern half of the Peace Trail. Sal’s side x side broke down on the 3rd day and we had to leave it at Golden Shores. He rode the rest of the way with me to Kingman and then back to Wikieup. We did some hard riding but I think everyone enjoyed the adventure. I created a couple of videos, one of the Secret Pass Canyon area and one of the Hualapai Mountains area south of Kingman. A member had to cancel and will not be going on the Vermilion Cliffs Ride (November 1 -4). They had reservations at Cliff Dwellers and anyone who wishes to go on this ride may be able to get reservations. Of course if you want to bring an RV, you could reserve a place for this ride. For our sport, recovery gear is essential. Everyone needs to have a recovery kit they (or someone they are riding with) can depend on. I didn’t know the difference between tow straps and recovery tow straps. Other than the price, I think we need the “recovery” straps. I didn’t know there were things like synthetic shackles that are as good as a steel or aluminum shackles but are flexible like rope. I am sure there are many sources for good gear. Some items you can get from Walmart or Harbor Freight for a good price but I think it is worth looking at suppliers youRead More →
