We recently spent two days riding around Alamo Lake and we have just returned from a ride to Cleator and the De Soto Mine. For those who do not do Facebook, I have 5 new videos on my YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@arizona3060. Check them out to see what you missed. Rides are what this Club is about! I hope to see you on a ride! Keith MenascoRead More →
It has come to my attention that some people who are no longer members are still receiving emails from the Club. If you are a non-member and you wish to no longer receive emails from the Club, then let me know and I will remove you from our user list. Keith Menasco, [email protected]Read More →
We were not able to get the Rodeo Grounds but we have found something that will work better than the Houston Mesa Campground or the Rodeo Grounds. Thanks to John Williams, who went out to checked out our campsite, we will be camping 6 miles west of Payson off the Doll Baby Ranch Road (FS 406) (34.22133, -111.40816), at the junction of FS 406 and FS 67. John found the site to be adequate for a group of RVs. This will be dry camping on Forest Service land. The FS 406 is mostly paved. There is one short flat stretch, just on the west end ofRead More →
I found that we can’t get the Rodeo Grounds but I think I have found another excellent camping spot. The Doll Baby Ranch Road (FS 406) is paved going west out of Payson. At the junction of FS 67 and FS 406 there appears to be ample space (according to Google Earth) to dry camp and it will not cost anything. This is 6 miles west of Highway 87. I have checked with the Ranger Station and there is no problem with us camping there. I would like to have someone check it out. This appears to be a better location than the FS HoustonRead More →
A reminder to our membership and Board of Director’s that we have a set of “Rules” or By- Laws that every one agreed to abide by when they signed up and joined the club. These By- Laws were approved by the Membership at a General Meeting in April 2010. The By-Laws should not be avoided or circumnavigated for convenience should one feel they wish NOT to abide by them. For over 23 years the monthly General Meetings have been a place for sharing experiences, welcoming new members and general club fellowship. Consistency and dependability have been one of our characteristics. I adamantly feel this shouldRead More →
I put this on our calendar so everyone could plan for it. I suggested Houston Mesa Campground which we can make work but I am also working on getting the Rodeo Grounds, south of town, across the highway from the Casino. So, hold off on making any reservations for the Houston Mesa Campground at this time. I went on a jamboree, which used the Rodeo Grounds, in November 2022. Here is part of one of our rides, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C2fKlNs3q8. I have this track and this will probably be one of our rides. I look forward to going to Payson. The Club went to Marysvale, UT last year and the Jamboree has been scheduled again for this year, August 7-10. You will need a day on either end for travel. Last year Mike Hann led this trip and it was excellent with Mike leading the rides. Our time overlapped with the Jamboree and I attended a couple of days and found the Jamboree to be well planned and had a good number of excellent rides, led by local people. They also bring in a caterer with excellent meals. Therefore, I thought it best for our Club to arrive and be a part of the JamboreeRead More →
Nick Rosso, General Manager, Nash Powersports, https://www.nashpowersports.com/, did a great job explaning what they had as far as an impressive line of side x sides, but also what they can provide in way of service. They have 3 locations in the Valley. There is no wait for general service, like an oil change. They are also a certified dealer for Rugged Radios and can do just about any special job of wiring, creating a new part, etc. Afterwards we had a great time at Happy Hour at Walter Station Brewery with good beer and food. I would like to thank Rod Moyer for leading a ride on Sunday form the Wickenburg Rodeo grounds. This was a interesting and some times challenging ride through many areas not normally traveled. I have ridden in this are many time, Rod took us through areas I had never visited in the past. Thanks again Rod. Tom M.Read More →
