We had a question at our last General Meeting on cost of a permit ($10 for 3 day permit). I did a quick search and came up with the following, https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1209317.pdf. The fee is not for the entire National Forest but only for 4 OHV areas, Bulldog Canyon, The Rolls, St. Clair, and Desert Vista. The Lower Sycamore OHV Permit Zone will eventually be required but the exact date of implementation is still to be determined. For OHV Area maps I refer you to, https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/tonto/recreation/ohv/?recid=35199&actid=93. You have to search for a link to a map (not easy to see). Keith MenascoRead More →

Gary Hornsby has been a friend and member of the Arizona ATV Riders for many years. Along with his affiliation with our organization Gary has been the owner operator for his ATV/UTV business for many years. Gary provided professional repair services for quads and SxS for club members and others at a reasonable cost. As of the first of April, Gary has closed his repair services business and will no longer be working in that discipline. An opportunity with the City of Peoria Fire Department was presented to Gary which he felt was in his best interest to take advantage of. Gary will remain aRead More →

Our next General Meeting at Brothers is April 16. I, and several other members, will be going to Kanab, UT in May. However, this event is full so I am letting you know of another UTV Rally that I have been to in the past. In fact this is where I purchased my Rugged Radio and had it installed on site. This area is beautiful and it is up in the cool pines. So in case you want to check it out, https://utvrally.com/pages/utv-rally-attendee-registration?_kx=2yUwE2lSR697RBZhCqktarTzXShCgTCb2TqcA5TPD5k.TwdDK5. Keith MenascoRead More →

I want to encourage everyone to attend my GAIAgps Training. It will be immediately after our general meeting, March 19. We will have a bite to eat at 5:00 pm followed by our general meeting at 6:00, so about 6:30. You will need to have a GAIA account ahead of time and be able to get onto GAIAgps.com. Bring your laptop and whatever you use in the field, a tablet or phone. You need to know how to get on Brothers’ wifi. GAIA will not work on your laptop without wifi. I will bring a projector and project my computer screen on a large screen,Read More →

I think I can speak for all, that we all had a great time with 3 days of riding. I was able to put together 6 new videos of our trips for all to enjoy, https://www.youtube.com/@arizona3060. Thanks for Red Cooney, we had a Poker Run on the last day. This was a first for me and a lot of fun even if I didn’t win. Keith MenascoRead More →

Immediately following our next general meeting, March 19, I will put on a GAIA gps class. We really need ride leaders and it is easy to do when you are able to follow your gps. I get asked all the time how I know about these trails. Where I have accumulated tracks over the years and many other people have tracks and once you have them on your phone or tablet you just follow the line. You don’t have to create the tracks but it is easy to add to them. That is really all there is to it. So, immediately after our next meetingRead More →
